Certified Sharpeners
Your shears are an investment — and how they’re serviced matters.
To protect your warranty and ensure peak performance, all sharpening and service must be performed by an official Shark Fin Certified Sharpener. Service performed by a non-certified sharpener will void your warranty.
Using a certified professional not only keeps your warranty intact, but also significantly extends the life, balance, and cutting performance of your shears.
Important Reminder
Each time your shears need sharpening, please verify that your sharpener is currently certified. You can check our official list or contact us directly to confirm their certification status.

The Shark Fin shear Company is the only shear company in the world with a National network of certified sharpeners, so what that means to you is that by using one of our recommended sharpeners it will keep your warranty in place, plus if they damage your shears (which has only happened twice over the last 20 years) We will replace them at no charge, if we cannot fix their mistake. While our sharpening service is not free, we do try to keep the price as reasonable as we can for our customers, the typical sharpening cost is $35 per shear. You should get a minimum of 12 months or longer between sharpening as long as your checking blade tension once a day and disinfecting and lubricating after EVERY client. Our sharpening program provides you with peace of mind that the sharpeners work has been thoroughly tested and upholds to the same quality that you know and love from Shark Fin Shears!

How long in between sharpening’s for your shear can vary due to a few factors such as, how many cuts you do in a day, and if your working with extensions frequently. Making sure to disinfect/lubricate the shears after every client and adjusting tension daily will prolong the life of your shears and limit the time between sharpening. However, a good rule of thumb is around every 12 months.
We unfortunately do not do sharpening services at our facility. But, your shear can also be mailed into any of our sharpening locations. Once you give them a call they will let you know where to send them to and the process
